I met Pierre Mabille a few days ago in an art gallery in Paris: Galerie Jean Fournier. I asked Pierre why he was obsessed with this shape, where did it come from. He answered that it was not an obsession but just a well thought out choice of a shape which doesn't have any name and is not listed anywhere (not like a rectangle, a cercle or a square). I liked Pierre's work a lot. For me I still think it became quite an obsession for him since he seems to see this shape every where he goes.
The exhibition lasts until january 5th 2013.
